Inv.-no. MB-Mon-18
Claude Monet subdivided the landscape into ground surface, trees, and sky by merely using different brushstrokes and accentuating with white, pink, and blue nuances. These subdivisions are fluid, and the forms are indicated in a sketch-like manner. Only the two figures on the left contribute an impression of spatial depth. The vigor of the brushstrokes emphasizes the process of painting.
