After 1882, Caillebotte increasingly focused on landscape painting. Numerous depictions were dedicated to the surroundings of his house in the Seine village of Le Petit Gennevilliers near Paris. The application of high-keyed colors and the free brushwork evidence the influence of Claude Monet’s garden paintings.
